40 oz. Philosophy is a cover band which started out in early 2008 as five acquaintances jamming once a month in a quonset near Humboldt. In late 2008, they made their first public appearance for shits and giggles as part of a birthday bash, and afterward decided to play a few more public functions, mostly for friends and family. Finding this to be an adrenaline rush, the band decided to get a little more serious and offer their talents at functions and on stages in and around central Saskatchewan.They are known for their ability to cover a wide range of musical styles from a number of musical eras. The band features Nathan Gregg on drums and vocals, Jodie Hergott on rhythm guitar and vocals, Brian Grest on bass and vocals, Brett Hrynewich on lead guitar, and Derek Kozar on lead guitar.
